Knowsley Council leader, Cllr Graham Morgan has issued a statement over the proposed visit of political extremist Tommy Robinson on a proposed visit to Knowsley.

Robinson  – real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon – the far-right founder of the English Defence League, is expected to visit the region over the coming weeks as part of his bid to get elected as MEP for the North West.

Speaking about Tommy Robinson’s proposed visit to Knowsley on 19 May 2019, Knowsley Council’s Leader, Cllr Graham Morgan, said: "Knowsley is a place which prides itself on strong communities, developed over time through building trust, friendship and community spirit. 

"The views and actions of Mr Robinson go against all that we stand for in Knowsley.  To be blunt, Mr Robinson is not welcome in Knowsley.”
