Police continue investigations after a fatal RTC in Huyton

Specialist Accident Investigators from the force’s roads policing team are continuing their investigations following a fatal RTC in Huyton yesterday (Monday, 24 October).

Emergency services were called to Liverpool Road at around 5.10pm following a collision between a Vauxhall Insignia and a bicycle.

The rider of the bike, 13-year-old Frankie Murphy, was taken to hospital where he was confirmed deceased a short time later.

The driver of the car is continuing to assist police with their enquiries.

A Post Mortem will take place to establish the cause of death.

Enquiries are continuing, the road was closed for a number of hours last night while Accident Investigators attended, CCTV is being examining and witnesses are being spoken to.
