Lord Derby Academy celebrate excellent results

Lord Derby Academy is celebrating excellent 2019 GCSE results with many remarkable individual pupil achievements.

All key headline progress and attainment measures increased this year and the results included the highest proportion of pupils achieving top grades in Lord Derby Academy history.

Amongst the whole school results were some phenomenal individual success stories.

The highest attaining pupil, Charlie, secured an impressive 7 grade 9 (the highest grade available) and 2 grade 8 GCSEs.

The youngest pupil in the year group, Megan, gained an impressive set of results despite earlier struggles linked to dyslexia. Megan’s mum, Sarah, SAID: “Megan came here in Year 7 and from the point she arrived I will gush about this school, it has been terrific.  

“She left primary school having failed her SATS. We came her and as parents you have to be quite persistent. We asked the school for as much support as Megan could have and they have more than fulfilled our brief”.  

Headteacher, Victoria Gowan said: “We are delighted that the 2019 GCSE results reflect the hard work, dedication and ambition of our pupils and wider school community”
