Notice is hereby given that in order to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works (“the Works”) and in order to facilitate traffic management, Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council proposes that in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Order”), the effect of this Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles (except emergency services) including pedal cycles from proceeding along:
(i) Caddick Road, Kirkby – for its entire length
(ii) Owen Road, Kirkby – for its entire length
(iii) Abercrombie Road, Kirkby – for its entire length
(iv) Faraday Road, Kirkby – for its entire length
(v) Edna Avenue, Kirkby – for its entire length
(vi) Grace Avenue, Kirkby – for its entire length
(vii) Esonwood Road, Whiston – for its entire length
(viii) Dragon Drive, Whiston – for its entire length
Caddick Road is currently programmed to be closed from 19 August 2019 to 6 September 2019. This is a no through road so there is no applicable diversion route.
Owen Road, Abercrombie Road and Faraday Road are currently programmed to be closed from 26 August 2019 to 30 August 2019. These are no through roads so there are no applicable diversion routes.
Edna Avenue and Grace Avenue are currently programmed to be closed from 2 September to 13 September 2019. The diversion route for vehicular traffic affected by the Edna Avenue closure will be via Copplehouse Lane, Valley Road and Field Lane and via Valley Road and Copplehouse Lane. Grace Avenue is a no through road so there is no applicable diversion route.
Esonwood Road is currently programmed to be closed from 9 September 2019 to 20 September 2019. This is a no through road so there is no applicable diversion route.
Dragon Drive is currently programmed to be closed from 23 September 2019 to 4 October 2019. The associated diversion route will be via Dragon Lane or as indicated by the traffic signs on site.
The Order will come into force on Wednesday 14th August 2019 and will have a maximum duration of 18 months.
Exemptions will be provided in the Order to permit reasonable access to properties and premises, so far as it is practical without interference with the execution of the said work and for works vehicles, any vehicle used in connection with the police, fire or ambulance purposes and anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.
