NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to enable maintenance works on the railway bridge on Mill Lane, Kirkby (“the Works”) and in order to facilitate traffic management, Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council made the above named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Order”), The effect of this Order will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians including pedal cycles from proceeding along:
(i) KB/2/1 Mill Lane Footpath, Kirkby – from its interface with Mill Lane for a distance of 30 metres in a southerly direction.
The diversion route for pedestrian traffic affected by the footpath closure on Mill Lane footpath will be via Boyes Brow, County Road and Hall Lane and vice versa. From the entry point in Millennium Park Old Hall Lane, the diversion route for pedestrian traffic will be via Old Hall Lane, Hall Lane, County Road, Boyes Brow and Mill Lane. It is anticipated that the works will take place from Tuesday 13th August to Friday 13th September 2019.
The Order came into force on Tuesday 13th August 2019 and will have a maximum duration of 18 months.
Exemptions are provided in the Order to permit reasonable access to properties, so far as it is practical without interference with the execution of the said work and for works vehicles, any vehicle used in connection with the police, fire or ambulance purposes and anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.
