Bowring Park approve restoration project contractor

Knowsley Councillors approved the appointment of a Principal Contractor – Idverde UK Ltd – to deliver the Bowring Park Restoration Project following a recent procurement exercise.

This is part of the successful application to the Heritage Lottery Fund’s Parks for People programme, which awarded Bowring Park £1.8m in July 2016.

Planned work at the park includes the restoration of the Coach House and refurbishment of the Stables Block, landscaping work to the historic parkland and restoration of habitats. There will also be a programme of education to raise awareness of the historic and cultural relevance of the park and an activity programme to increase use of the park.

In order to progress the works, Cabinet also agreed a contribution of £374,000 from one-off resources.
