NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate sewer repair works on Rupert Road, Huyton (“the Works”) and in order to facilitate traffic management, Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council made the above named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Order”), The effect of this Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles (except emergency services) including pedal cycles from proceeding along:
(i) Rupert Road, Huyton – from its junction with Church Road, in an easterly direction, to a point 10 metres east of its junction with Hawthorn Road
The main diversion routes for vehicular traffic affected by the road closure on Rupert Road will be via Archway Road, Blue Bell Lane, Liverpool Road, Dovecot Avenue, Pilch Lane and Page Moss Lane and vice versa and; Page Moss Lane, Ashover Avenue, Liverpool Road, Blue Bell Lane and Archway Road and; Archway Road, Bridge Road and Church Road. It is anticipated that the works will take place from Monday 22 July 2019 to Monday 5 August 2019.
The Order came into force on Wednesday 17th July 2019 and will have a maximum duration of 18 months.
Exemptions are provided in the Order to permit reasonable access to properties, so far as it is practical without interference with the execution of the said work and for works vehicles, any vehicle used in connection with the police, fire or ambulance purposes and anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.
