Bugs support ‘Nomoreknives’ Campaign

Liverpool Running Bugs recently hosted their first club race and what a day it turned out to be.

Their ‘No More Knives 5 miler’ was held in memory of Adam Ellison and saw over 200 runners enjoy the glorious sunshine at Stadt Moers Park, Whiston.

Tracey Carr from Liverpool Running Bugs, said: “The day was made extra special by having Adams family and friends with us, with Adams Mum and Dad officially starting the race.

“It was fantastic to see so many runners from local clubs.

"I would like to say a huge thank you to Decathlon for donating all the goodie bags and medals, the Village Hotel for donating the prizes and Brunch in Whiston Village for putting on free refreshments and also to everyone who donated a spot prize. But the biggest thank you goes to all our runners today, your donations have helped us raise nearly £700.

“Today wasn't about the money, it was about the community getting together to stand against knife crime and to keep Adams memory alive, so the fact we have raised this amount is incredible.

“Well done everyone, be proud of yourselves… Liverpool Running Bugs are certainly proud of each and everyone of you”.
