Construction forum to help Knowsley firms

Knowsley firms could reap the benefits of the borough’s development pipeline as a new Construction Forum is launched.

Prescot’s Shakespeare North Playhouse and the mixed-use vision for Earlsfield Park are among a number of major projects lined up for the area.

Knowsley Chamber is behind the forum, which will aim to bring local construction and supply chain businesses together to hear about the opportunities available to them.

An inaugural meeting is being held at The Village Hotel in the borough on 17 April, with Knowsley Council’s head of the major development team, Tony Clark set to provide an overview of the key schemes being brought forward.

A Knowsley Chamber spokesperson said: “We have a pipeline of major developments (residential and commercial) that are already underway or about to commence, and the adoption of Knowsley’s Local Plan will release approximately 164 hectares of employment land, with plans to build 8,100 new homes to fulfil the Housing Strategy.

“Projects such as the Shakespeare Theatre, Earlsfield and Whiston to name but a few will help to boost Knowsley’s business, housing, leisure and culture offer and assist us to capitalise on our close proximity to Liverpool and Manchester.”
